Christian Smutnick

Born April 5, 1991 (20 years old). Originally from Pomfret, Connecticut. Began road racing in 2009 with LRRS and CCS/ASRA. Earned Amateur status in 2010.

Races a 2003 CRF450R Motard in the Super Singles, ULSB, Motard and GTL classes.

Career highlights – Rookie Season (2010) I took multiple podium finishes on 3 different motorcycles: a SV650, a CRF450R, and an EX500.

Personal goals for the coming season – I hope to achieve 4 podiums a weekend in Amateur, so as to be bumped to Expert before the 3rd weekend. By the end of the season I am hoping to find my PB below a 1:19.3. I also hope to grow a better goatee than Pete.

Team goals for the coming season – I am very lucky to have a bunch of very talented team mates this year. A goal for the team this year is to see Jake advance to Amateur early on in the season and continue to succeed. As a team I also hope to share as much pertinent information as possible, so as to improve the team as a whole.

Other Info – It all started when I was 10 with an XR100R. I progressed and started racing NETRA Hare Scrambles when I was 15. I got a job working at a motorcycle dealership when I was 17 selling parts and got involved with the track crowd. A group of us would informally race mini motards in a parking lot working on form and technique. I would support my coworkers at the USCRA events at NHMS by serving as the “honorary” pit crew. I was hooked and I signed up for Penguin using a borrowed EX500 and got my race license. I then continued to race a full season in LRRS the following year

Off the track – I work for a medical equipment company assembling product while going to college at night. During the riding season I also teach the MSF BRC to new riders in Connecticut.
